Well what a way to finish of your clubs 40th season that with a game at the home of cricket Hambledon Cricket Club.Before the game even started we had managed to secure a fixture for the next season. Hambledon opened the batting and were soon 22-2 before a good partnership between P.Bains and C.Pratt took the score up to 89 before Hambledon lost thier 3rd wicket.Some good bowling and good batting saw Hamble reach 201=9 at the end of their alloted overs,pick of the bowlers Harry Rendell 4-33.After a superb tea it was Pilgrims turn to bat.Matt and Lawrence opened and Pilgrims made good progress to 54-3. At the crease know were Craig and Simon G. Simon carried on where he left of on tour with an exellent 90 whilst Craig moved steadily on to 53 before they were both out with the score on 197-5 needing just 5 runs to win. What was to follow must be one of the worst collapses in the Pilgrims history because we ended on 198-9 loosing 5 wickets for 5 runs and lost the game by 3 runs.Many thanks to Hambledon for giving us this game and a big thank you for your hospitality shown to us and our families.Well that brought to end another succesfull Pilgrims season. A huge thanks to Dave Sandham and Paul Rendell for all the effort and hard work you put in organising fixtures and getting a team each week.Thanks to Chrissy for all the scoring this season and thanks to all the family and freinds who support us each week.
